Military / Overseas Voters

  1. If you are a registered voter and expect to be deployed or temporarily living outside the U.S. on election day and wish to vote an absentee ballot, contact your local election authority.
     
  2. If you reside in the City of St. Louis, contact the City Election Board as follows:

    1. By mail: 300 N. Tucker Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63101.
    2. By telephone: 314-622-3230 or 314-622-3319.
    3. By fax: 314-622-3378.
       
  3. If you reside elsewhere in Missouri and are not sure how to contact your local election authority, check the following website:

If you are not currently registered and are on active military duty, or living outside the United States, you can use the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) to both register to vote and to request an absentee ballot. This form, which can also be used by military spouses and dependents, may be obtained as follows:

    1. From a Voting Assistance Officer in the applicant’s branch of service.
    2. From a U.S. consulate or embassy.
    3. From the Federal Voting Assistance Program of the Dept. of Defense,
      Washington, D.C. 20301, 1-800-438-VOTE (8683).
       
  5. Deadlines:

    1. Start of absentee balloting for an election – the sixth Tuesday prior to that election.
    2. Last day to register to vote in an election – the fourth Wednesday prior to that election.
    3. Last day an absentee ballot may be mailed to a voter – the Wednesday prior to an election.
    4. Deadline to return an absentee ballot -- 7:00 P.M. on the day of the election.
       
  6. Additional information:

     
    1. Someone requesting an absentee ballot for a primary election must specify a political party preference or a non-partisan/issues only ballot.
    2. Active duty military, their spouses and dependents, and overseas voters are NOT required to have their signatures notarized.
    3. In extreme circumstances, a federal service voter may be eligible to fax or email their voted ballot to their election authority. To see if you qualify for this option, check the following website: http://www.sos.mo.gov.
